Tallulah Falls School Clubs for 2007 - 2008:
ASTRONOMY CLUB: Linda Harris, Scott Davis, Kathy Church The Astronomy Club meets at night with Mrs. Harris and during scheduled times during the school day with Mr. Davis and/or Ms. Church. The objectives for the Club are that students will be able to identify the brightest objects in the night sky, and that they will be aware of current astronomical activities. They will have access to the Astronomy magazine and learn to use a Planisphere. On occasion, Mr. Boyd will set up the big telescopes for observations of the planets.
BIBLE STUDY: Scott Neal Bible Study meets Friday mornings at breakfast in the Dining Hall. The purpose of the club is to get to know God in a more personal and meaningful way.
CHESS CLUB: John Fede The Chess Club will be held in the Industrial Arts Lab behind the Middle School wing. Students can learn how to play chess or play with other experienced players. Chess is a fun game that can be played throughout a person's life.
FRENCH CLUB: Stacy Caro The French Club will meet once a month, and the members will participate in cultural activities such as watching films, decorating for holidays, playing French games, etc. In the spring, we will prepare for Foreign Language Day.
OUTDOOR CLUB: Bob Loder The Tallulah Falls School Outdoor Club is organized to promote knowledge and understanding of the natural world, and to develop the skills and confidence necessary to be proficient in a wide variety of outdoor sports. Low impact use of the natural environment will be stressed in all activities. Most group activities will be limited to ten individuals in order to insure adequate supervision and minimal disturbance to the natural environment. Activities such as camping, hiking, caving, mountain biking, kayaking, rock climbing and alpine skiing may be offered. To participate in the Outdoor Club, you must be in good physical condition, good academic and disciplinary standing and have a positive attitude.
KEY CLUB: Randy Morris Key Club is the oldest and largest service program for high school students worldwide. Today, Key Clubs exist on almost 5,000 high school campuses all over the world. Key Club membership is open to any student who desires to become a leader in his/her school and community and wishes to provide service to others.
RECYCLE CLUB: Scott Neal The Recycle Club's purpose is to "Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle." The Club will go to the recycling center once a week.
