TFS golfers excel in Area tournament

 The Tallulah Falls School varsity girls golf team won the Area Championship in a tournament held April  19 at the Orchard golf course. The TFS quartet of Jenny Wang, Grace Brewer, Chloe Turpin and Julia Nichols will attend the State Championships on May 16. The team low score of 213 is a TFS record for 18 holes. Sophomore Jenny Wang tied for low medalist with a score of 82.

The Tallulah Falls School boys team finished fifth out of nine schools and missed going to the Sectionals by one place. However, the boys team score of 362 set a new school record. Junior Michael Weidner was the TFS low medalist with a score of 82. Weidner’s score earned a top five overall finish and a trip to the State Sectionals on May 2, and was also the lowest score among non-qualifying teams.
