TFS announces baseball, volleyball coaches for 2016-17

Three new coaches are joining the athletic staff at Tallulah Falls School.

                              Wilcox

The first, Mark Wilcox, of Rabun County, a highly-regarded veteran educator, administrator and coach will lead the TFS baseball program for the 2017 season. Coach Wilcox will also teach strength and conditioning and health and fitness courses for the 2016-17 school year.  

Wilcox has most recently served as the 21st Century After School/Title I Program Director for Rabun County Schools.

Coach Wilcox has more than 240 wins as a head baseball coach.

“We are glad to have Coach Wilcox as a leader of GREAT on the TFS campus,” Neal says.  “He is known for disciplined teams that unite for common goals. His experience, poise and positive approach to education will impact our students in many ways.”

                               Miller

Another addition to the athletic staff in the JV volleyball program is Madison Miller, a student presently attending Truett-McConnell University.

Coach Miller is working toward a pre-medical degree with a concentration in physical therapy while coaching volleyball.

“Coach Miller will bring to practice daily an enthusiastic outlook and a solid understanding of the details of successful volleyball,” Neal says. “We are delighted to have Coach Miller join the TFS volleyball program.”

                             Johnson

 The third addition to the athletic staff is Katie Johnson, of Mt. Airy, who will lead the middle school volleyball program. 

Coach Johnson, with previous experience in coaching youth in Hawaii and area recreation volleyball, brings knowledge and passion to the TFS program, Neal says.

“We are looking forward to her leading our middle school volleyball team,” Neal says. “The team graduated many of its Tri State and North Georgia championship members, but has an energetic group with high hopes of returning to another successful season.

President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy is pleased with the new coaching selections and looks forward to a new season.
