Tallulah Falls School announces new faculty/staff for 2016-17 academic year

New faculty/staff are in place to begin the new academic year at Tallulah Falls School. Teachers returned to campus for pre-planning August 2 with students returning on August 8. 

“We look forward to a great year with these talented individuals added to our growing roster of highly-quality faculty/staff,” President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy said. 

New teachers at the middle school are Memrie Cox, music [also teaching chorus at the upper school]; Hannah Gibson, eighth grade English; Kim McClurg, sixth/seventh grade English; and Chrissy Van Hooser, fifth grade. 

Also new at the middle school is Monica Welborn, serving as assistant academic dean. 

At the upper school, college counselor Bobby Hammond is taking on an additional role as the assistant upper school academic dean. Michelle Barron is the new school counselor and Mark Wilcox is teaching physical education as well as serving as head baseball coach. 

Transferring to new duties are Katie McDaniel, moving from dorm counselor to academic assistant at the upper school. 

Upper/middle school learning resource coordinator Carol Madden is also teaching math at the upper school.

Middle school drama teacher Carrie Elrod is also teaching drama at the upper school. 

Video broadcasting/journalism teacher Kerri Pugh has moved from the upper school to the middle school and middle school teacher Stacie Besier has moved from eighth grade English to her new role as a fifth grade teacher. 

Working with boarding students in the dormitories are new dorm counselors Darilee Sims and Heather Pitts. 

New on the dining hall staff are Jenny Richardson and Prissy Saxon. And new to plant services is Deborah Payne. 

New on campus supporting TFS athletes are part-time coaches Katie Johnson, Sharae Long, Madison Miller, Herb Snedden and Josh Welborn.
