TFS middle school cross country team excels at Eagle Invitational

Members of the Tallulah Falls School middle school cross country team made strides at the Eagle Invitational held at Jefferson’s Lamar Murphy Park on September 10.

“Right before the last dew evaporated from the green blades of the Lamar Murphy Park - a hub of fields, firing range, correctional facility, and harrier host - 91 gleeful youths (at least before they started) sprinted, strolled, and strided for 3200m, 200m more than two weeks ago on the same facility,” said Athletic Director Scott Neal.

Highlights include sixth grader Carol Kate Dunlap of Lakemont, who knocked off 50 seconds from two weeks ago, even though the course was one-eighth of a mile longer, sixth place finish for seventh grader Lucy Alexander of Sautee Nachoochee, 10th place finish for eighth grader Ben Fisher of Clayton and top improvers eighth grader Eli Sims of Clarkesville,  sixth grader Lincoln Hall of Mt. Airy, seventh grader Tyler Popham of Demorest and sixth grader Cassidy Hayes of Cornelia.
