TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for October 9-14.

Varsity Girl

Senior Sophie Burke of Chesterton, Indiana was named an Indian of the Week by varsity cross country coach Scott Neal. “Sophie ran her season-best 5K at the Runners Fit Mountain Invitational at Unicoi State Park in Helen,” Neal said. “A three-year cross country harrier at TFS, Sophie is endeared by her teammates for her infectious countenance, ability to connect with anyone and pervasive encouragement.  Sophie’s influence on the team is clear, deep and important. Every team needs someone whose positive effect on others helps to create a season of significance.”

Varsity Boy

Sophomore David Woods of Durham, North Carolina has been selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity soccer coach Jonathan Roberts. “David is new to the soccer team this year,” Roberts said, “But he has been working steadily to earn playing time. His perseverance paid off in the team’s last match as he went onto the field with the team down and, with a veteran’s composure, drove from the wing to score – preventing a shutout. David maintains a great attitude and works diligently to improve his skill set and contribute to our squad’s success.”
