Key Club celebrates year of service at District Convention
On February 23–25, members of the Tallulah Falls School Key Club traveled to Macon, where they had another strong showing at District Convention (DCON).
This year the school was represented by 12 students. In addition to having one of the largest delegations present, the club also won several awards:
- Single Service Award-first place
- Distinguished Club-Diamond Level
- Outstanding Community Service Award-presented to Dr. Robert Barron
- Traditional “Year-in-Review” Award-second place
- Non-Traditional “Year-in-Review” Award-second place
- Talent Show Award
“The TFS Key Club continues to add to the prestige of local representation on the Georgia District Board of Trustees,” said faculty advisor Scott Davis. “Although Alia Bly was retired as Lt. Governor for District 10, she has graciously assumed the mantle of District Bulletin Editor for the upcoming year. This will mark the third consecutive year TFS Key Club has had someone to serve at the District Level.”
DCON is all about charity, and among the charities TFS Key Club supported this year are the Georgia Sheriffs' Youth Homes, Project Eliminate, Project Thirst, Project Linus, Habersham County Circle of Hope, and others, Davis added. “TFS Key Club is proud to help these worthy endeavors,” Davis said. “Luckily, the year is not over and in the words of Robert Frost, ‘we have miles to go before we sleep.’”
