TFS scores high at Rust Buster Invite

 
 

 

At the April 12 Rust Buster Invitational hosted by Parkview High School, the Tallulah Falls School varsity girls team finished second of seven teams, scoring 112 points while defeating Decatur, Lakeside, Stone Mountain, Berkmar and Galloway. The TFS boys placed third of nine teams, defeating Decatur, Lakeside, Washington, Stone Mountain, Berkmar and Galloway.

"Though most marks were not personal records, our performances and representation were competitive and strong," said Athletic Director Scott Neal. 

Senior Anna Davis of Clarkesville was the high point scorer for the meet, winning the 100-meter hurdles, placing second in both the 300-meter hurdles and the long jump and anchoring both relays. 

Sophomore Gabe Iluma of Nigeria won the pole vault with a personal record of 12’ 1". Junior Chance Bess of Tampa, Florida won the discus and threw the shot for a new personal best. 

Junior Madison Ball of Tiger eclipsed her 400-meter PR while freshman Julian Gober of Clarkesville bettered his own 300-meter hurdle record. Freshman Grey Bourlet of Tallulah Falls earned the most TFS points on the boys' side (19.25).

Next meet: Area 2–A Private Championships @ Providence Christian, April 19.
