TFS coaches name Indians of the Month

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian Athletes of the Month for September.

Middle school girl

Middle school tennis coach Lisa Wilcox selected Annabelle Jackson of Alto as an Indian Athlete of the Month for September. “Annabelle has been the definition of consistent,” coach Wilcox said. “She is undefeated on the season and continues to improve. Just last week she battled through a foot injury and still won. She is a seventh-grader; we’re excited to have her on the middle school team for another year!”

Middle school boy

Middle school soccer coach Travis Mullis selected Jake Wehrstein as an Indian Athlete of the Month for September.
“Jake is a second-season player, who began his time supporting the defensive line but effective this season, has become its anchor,” Mullis said. “Often quiet and unassuming, Jake is quickly becoming an excellent leader while also possessing soccer smarts. Many times this season, Jake has stopped the attack of the opponents by either tracking down a player, jockeying well to steal the ball from the player, or by launching his body into the direction of a shot to prevent a score. Outside of soccer, Jake enjoys his classes at TFS and has assisted his team with a service project. It gives me great pleasure to select Jake as an Indian of the Month.”

Varsity girl

Varsity cross country coach Scott Neal selected junior captain Sophie Alexander of Clarkesville as an Indian Athlete of the Month for September.
“Sophie ran hundreds of miles through the summer, emphatically sets her team as the priority while fulfilling every commitment and team culture standard, and has performed at a high level throughout the season, even while facing adversity,” coach Neal said. “She also was the impetus in more than 1,000 cookies and quotes being prepared for the annual Cookies ‘n Quotes Cross Country Festival, providing significant and inspiring leadership.”

Varsity boy

Varsity soccer coach Brett Adams has selected senior Ajani McIntosh of Sylva, North Carolina as the Indian Athlete of the Month.
“Several characteristics qualify Ajani as our Indian of the Month,” coach Adams said. “A striker’s job is to put the ball in the back of the net and threaten an opponent’s back line. While healthy, Ajani’s scoring and assisting provided a multi-dimensional attack. His passion for the game infuses his competitive spirit, performance and die-hard contributions to TFS Soccer. In a sad turn of events, a quad pull has sidelined his match presence, but he has handled the setback with dignity and leadership commensurate with being a team captain. He now supports the team at practices and matches with encouragement and recovery training.  We look forward to his return and his very missed contributions as an effective striker.”
