TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for October 22-27.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Seventh-grader Ellie Southards of Dillard was named an Indian of the Week by middle school basketball coach Sharea Long. “Ellie always gives her best effort day in and day out,” Long said. “She does an outstanding job of leading by example, never complains and always arrives with a terrific attitude. Simply put, she is a great kid to coach and models the character we want to see in all of our students.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Sixth-grader KC Respress was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school basketball coach Logan James. “KC immediately established himself as a leader,” James said. “Not only does he communicate well with his peers, but he also provides a great example by paying attention to detail and putting forth his best effort into everything we do. Coming out of a fall sport KC has stepped right into basketball without skipping a beat.”

VARSITY GIRL

Junior captain Sophie Alexander of Sautee Nacoochee was named an Indian of the Week by cross country coach Scott Neal. “Sophie ran her season-best race when it counted,” Neal said. “At the Area 2-A Private championships at Wesleyan School, Sophie placed 24th of 65 in the varsity race and 28th overall of 127 harriers. Sophie has been a GREAT leader, a continual team communicator and a role model of how to come back from adversity.”

VARSITY BOY

Senior Will Jackson of Clarkesville was selected as an Indian of the Week by cross country coach Scott Neal. “Will saved his best race for the culminating race of his high school career,” said Neal. His 13th place JV time of 20:53.83 placed him 58th of 204 overall male runners for the day. It was exciting to see Will finish up his seven-year cross country career on such a positive note. He also leaves a legacy with the annual team camping trip and the many memories it continually shapes.”
