TFS and HCHS meet generates friendly competition

 
 

 

The Indians of Tallulah Falls School and the Raiders of Habersham Central High School competed on April 2 among friends under intermittent clouds, stunning sun rays and crisp temperatures, providing some personal record performances.

According to Athletic Director Scott Neal the Lady Indians won 14 of the 16 events.  

Junior Reid Kafsky of Clarkesville won the 100m, 200m and triple jump, senior Sydney Spivey of Demorest, both hurdle races, freshman Macy Murdock of Carnesville, the 400m and long jump, junior Sophie Alexander of Sautee-Nacoochee, the 1600 and 3200m, senior Jenni Gallagher of Clarkesville, the pole vault, senior Damali Danavall of Jonesboro, the shot put and junior Whitson of Alto, the 800m.

The 400m relay team (Spivey, Danavall, Kafsky and Murdock) and 4x4 relay (Spivey, senior Madison Ball of Tiger, Whitson and Murdock) teams also won. Junior Laurel Smith of Clayton ran her best performances of the year in the 400m and 800m, Neal said.

The TFS male counterparts won the pole vault (junior Gabe Iluma of Nigeria), 200m and 400m (sophomore Grey Bourlet of Tallulah Falls), discus (senior Chance Bess of Tampa, FL) and 4x1 relay (senior Ajani McIntosh of Sylva, N.C., Bourlet, Iluma, junior Mohamed Kanu of Decatur).  

Sophomore Collin Kelly of Demorest broke the 12:00 barrier in the double metric mile for the first time, Neal said.  

Bourlet, junior Chris Geiger of Sautee-Nacoochee, Kanu, Iluma, sophomore Ray Pan of China, freshman Zi Wang of China, freshman Ethan Wanner of Toccoa and freshman Colton Augustine of Demorest all set personal records, Neal added.
