Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for April 15-20.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS

Seventh-grader Molly Mitchell and sixth grader Haygen James, both of Cornelia, were named as Indians of the Week by junior bass fishing coach Jeff Mitchell. “The middle school team is the first-ever all-female team to win a Georgia BASS Nation high school tournament,” Mitchell said. “The high-achieving duo weighed in with a 13.36-pound bag to secure the top spot in the junior division at the April 13 Lake Lanier tournament. This also marks the third Lake Lanier tournament in a row with TFS coming in first. The girls were on fire and having a blast.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Eighth-grader Nelson Wilkinson of Cleveland was named an Indian of the Week by middle school track & field coach Scott Neal. “Nelson placed fourth of 45 in the discus at the Georgia Middle School State Championships,” Neal said. “He set a personal record with a heave of 116’ - 10”.  Nelson had multiple throws above his previous personal record and moved up to No. 2 on the TFS middle school legacy list. He also threw the shot put 35’- 10” to finish 18th of 75 throwers. Nelson is a versatile and highly competitive athlete who also competes in tennis, swimming and basketball. He finds a way to flourish at higher level competitions.”

VARSITY GIRL

Sophomore Maggie Jackson of Clarkesville was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity golf coach Allen Campbell. “Maggie won the inaugural Apple Mountain Invitational by shooting a low medalist 72 in regulation play and won the playoff with a birdie on 18,” Campbell said. “This makes the 3rd tournament in a row that Maggie has finished in the top 10 and her first tournament win since winning the Area 2 Championship last April.”

VARSITY BOY

Sophomore Chathan Clouatre of Toccoa was named an Indian of the Week by varsity baseball coach Mark Wilcox. “Chathan has been outstanding this season,” Wilcox said. “He has excelled defensively as our catcher and offensively at the plate. His leadership by example has been a great asset to the TFS baseball program.”
