TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected Indian Athletes of the Week for Sept. 16-21.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Seventh-grader Caroline Smith of Cleveland was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school volleyball assistant coach Hannah Wall. “Caroline has improved tremendously over the course of the season,” Wall said. “She works hard in practice and always has a positive attitude. Caroline started out strictly as a B-team player but was recently asked to dress out with the A-team. Her hard work and determination have really paid off this season.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Seventh-grader TJ Cox of Cornelia was named an Indian of the Week by middle school tennis coach Lisa Wilcox. “TJ has fought diligently to keep his singles position on the team,” Wilcox said. “In last week’s match against Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School, TJ played the No. 3 singles position and defeated his opponent 8-0.  He is very competitive, respectful and eager to learn each and every day whether it is for practice, matches or in the classroom.”

VARSITY GIRL

Junior Rebekah Jennings of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by varsity volleyball coach Matt Heyl. “Rebekah had her best week of the year passing the ball with great focus and accuracy,” Heyl said. “As the libero, she is the key to our defense and starting the offense with a good pass. Because of her great ball control, we had one of our best hitting weeks of the season. She has risen as a leader of the team; if I need something done I can count on Rebekah."

VARSITY BOY

Senior Marshall Williams of Toccoa was selected as an Indian of the Week by bass fishing team advisor E. Lane Gresham. “Marshall is the captain for the team this season,” Gresham said. “He has stepped into this newly created leadership position with a mature perspective. Marshall is a quiet leader who instills confidence in our younger student-anglers. His passion for competitive bass fishing was instrumental in the formation of this sport at TFS. I am proud of Marshall and look forward to an exciting season as he completes his high school career before launching into the next level of competition at Emmanuel College.”
