Lunch career series continues with anesthesiologist

Tallulah Falls School continued its series of lunch and learn events on Nov. 20 with TFS parent Christopher Whitson, an anesthesiologist with Anesthesia Associates of Gainesville.

The series is designed to connect upper school students to career professionals, according to Upper School Academic Dean Kim Popham.

Whitson provided an overview of the profession, including an overview of educational requirements following high school graduation that a prospective anesthesiologist would require.

“It was truly a pleasure to speak to the students informally during their lunch. I found them courteous, bright, and asking great questions relating to the topics at hand. The school staff and leaders were very helpful and welcoming,” Whitson said. “I hope it was helpful to the students in considering their future goals and career aspirations.”

Student feedback:
Senior Sarah Edwards of Sautee Nacoochee
I really enjoyed learning more about the medical field because I would eventually like to pursue a career in that field. I learned a lot; I am grateful there are people in our community who are willing to help us learn more about their profession.

Abby Peacock
I’m not currently interested in the medical field but I think the opportunity to learn about different professions is very important to further determine what I would like to pursue as a career.

Emily Church
I’m not sure what career path I want to take so going to the session helped me explore different career options that I might want to consider in the future.
