TFS MS girls, boys split against Woody Gap at home

The TFS middle school basketball teams took to the court against visiting Woody Gap on Thursday evening. The girls walked away winners, cruising to a 32-9 win. The B-Team boys dropped a 27-24 game.

The Lady Indians got started quickly on a Breelyn Wood fast break layup and never looked back. Behind great rebounding from Millie Holcomb, TFS found itself up 18-0 at the break.

TFS outscored Woody Gap 14-9 in the second half, securing the 32-9 victory. The girls are now 2-0 on the young season, and return to action December 5 at home against Lanier Christian.

The boys fell 27-24 in a low-scoring affair, but stormed back to tie the game in the fourth. The second half saw TFS outscore Woody Gap by a wide margin, but the visitors did just enough to earn the win. Elijah Barker led the way with 11 points, while Jackson Savage added 5. The boys had only 8 points at the break, but doubled that output in the second half while giving up just 11.

The B-Team is now 0-3 on the season, and play next on December 15 at Woody Gap in a rematch.
