Indians of the Week for week ending January 16

The Indians of the Week are chosen by coaches, and recognize student-athletes that play sports that are currently in season. This week's Indians of the Week (for the week of January 11-16) include Iray Adeleke and Kale Corbett for high school, and Millie Holcomb and Nick Edenfield for middle school. PAST INDIANS OF THE WEEK

Iray Adeleke - Basketball

High School Girl

Although Iray Adeleke is in her second season as a varsity Lady Indian, her improvement during the 2020-2021 season has been dramatic. This past week her advancement could be shown in the stat book where over two games she collected 23 rebounds, 11 points, five deflections, five steals, and two blocks. As Iray's skills improve, her confidence grows and the positive impact on her teammates shows. We look forward to many more meaningful minutes as the Lady Indians enter the heart of the region schedule and seek to build momentum during this important part of the season.

Millie stepped up this week not only in her leadership during practice but in our game on Saturday, leading all scorers with 10 points. She hit the game winning shot with .6 seconds left on the clock. She was focused and her determination helped push her team to a win to keep an undefeated record for the season.
