Season Recap: JV boys reach perfection in 2020-21

Going undefeated in any sport is quite the accomplishment. In basketball, it's arguably more difficult to do given that even the best of teams can lose on any given night. For the TFS JV Indians, the 2020-21 season came and went, and ended with a flawless record intact at 13-0.

Coach Lowell Hamilton guided the program to great success throughout the season, preparing the young men for the varsity level. A number of the players on the JV team have already logged varsity minutes, and their instruction and experience at the JV level has been invaluable.

With newcomer Gavin Page coming to TFS this season, the Indians knew they had solid guard play between the junior and sophomore Diego Crotta. The pair consistently were the top scorers in just about every game this season, along with junior George Ketch and sophomores Bryan Cope and Colton Hicks.

The boys opened the 2020-21 slate in a road test at Bethlehem Christian, escaping with a narrow 40-32 win. Things were even tougher in the second game, a 63-61 win over Towns County in which Page dropped a season-high 31 points on the road. Those close battles prepared the Indians for the remainder of the season.

Other close wins included a victory in December over Hebron Christian (41-37), two January wins over Prince Avenue Christian (51-48 and 47-45) and others over Galloway (43-40) and Loganville Christian (46-39).

Out of 13 games played, the Indians won seven by less than 10 points, and five by fewer than four points. In a word, these boys are battle tested and ready for what lies ahead for each of them as many have or will be playing varsity very soon.
