TFS sets new wins record in 2-0 win over Athens Academy

The Tallulah Falls Indians didn't need to give Trent Thomas much help in a 2-0 win over Athens Academy. In fact, Thomas dominated with a complete game, 3-hit shutout for the win, and drove in the only two runs of the game. TFS set a new school record in wins in a single season, surpassing the previous high of 12.

Thomas singled in Chathan Clouatre in the first, and doubled home Tyler Popham in the third. The Indians recorded just five hits, with Thomas collecting two of them. Popham, Clouatre, and Malique Charlton had one hit apiece. Thomas worked out of a jam in the fourth, when runners were on the corners and one out. He induced a double play grounder to end the threat.

Thomas picked up his fifth win of the season, going the full seven frames while surrendering just three hits and a walk while striking out seven. TFS evened the 3-game set with Athens Academy, leading to Friday's rubber match on the road. The Indians are now 13-8 overall and 7-4 in region play.
