TFS hosts Joint Habersham/Rabun Chamber Business After Hours event

In a first-ever event held in the newly opened natatorium, Tallulah Falls School welcomed members of the Habersham and Rabun Chambers of Commerce for an annual networking event.
The event also served as a ribbon-cutting for the $16 million facility, featuring a 10-lane competition pool, bleacher seating for 240 spectators, the latest technology for scoring swim meets, locker rooms and multi-purpose gathering spaces.
With more than 150 people in attendance, President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy shared remarks about the facility, thanking contractor Ron Cantrell of Ron Cantrell Construction, Inc. of Cleveland and architect George Hlavenka for their role in leading the construction process.
Also present were Kevin and Melissa Wood, owners of Woods Furniture of Clarkesville, the vendor for the furnishings and decor. TFS parent Ivy Hall worked with Jessica Miller of Woods on pulling together the design package. With the school’s Advancement Department, Brandi Wood played a vital role in the design process as well, Peevy said.
“It was important for us to work with local vendors and subcontractors as much as possible during this process,” Peevy said. “As we welcomed our local business partners to campus for the first time in more than a year, it was fitting to commemorate this major milestone for our campus community.”
Peevy thanked the TFS faculty and staff for their tremendous support and work on the project as well.
“Our foodservice partner, Flik Independent Dining, did an outstanding job in providing a variety of high-end appetizers and desserts,” Peevy said. “I’d also like to extend my thanks to the IT Department, Plant Services Department and Advancement Department for all the behind-the-scenes expertise that goes into making an event like this possible.”
