Lady Indians celebrate seniors with 3-0 win over Rabun Gap

The TFS Lady Indians dominated in all areas of the game in a 3-0 win over visiting Rabun Gap on Wednesday at Tallulah Falls. The win came in front of an impressive crowd and student section, as TFS honored its seven seniors - Emily Church, Evette Corwin, Allie Dalton, Nancy Fisher, Marissa Gergeni, Alba Romanos Gracia, and Barrett Whitener.

It started with a 25-13 win in the opening set, followed by a 25-16 second set and 25-17 to close the game.

"It wasn't like we played last weekend, but I thought we did pretty well for having three injured girls out there," says coach Matt Heyl. "Rabun Gap was pretty solid as well. Barrett [Whitener] and Allie [Dalton] were standouts with their great play."

The win put the Lady Indians at 13-5 overall on the season, and runs the win streak to two in a row.

Meanwhile, the C-Team played to a three-set loss despite taking the early lead. The Lady Indians led after a 25-17 first set win over Rabun Gap. It was a hard-fought second set, though the visitors won 27-25 to tie the match. In the third and decisive set, TFS lost 12-15.

Julia Smith and Caroline Smith served well throughout the match, while Gemma Farris played well at the net, and Chesney Tanksley starred all around. The C-Team is now 2-3 on the season.
