TFS has named Indians of the Week for the week of November 8-13. This week's selections are Veronaye Charlton and Evan Prince for high school, and Sarah Wilkinson and Frankie Pribyl for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK
Veronaye Charlton - Basketball
HS Girl
Veronaye Charlton has started this basketball season out with a set of strong and consistent performances. In her first game of the season coupled with a pre-season scrimmage, she has managed an average of 17 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists. Veronaye, who is also affectionately known as 'Tweedy' by her peers, has set the tone for us this season with her strong aggressive play against two of the toughest teams we'll face this season. She is constantly showing herself to be a leader for this team by setting the tone for the games ahead. -coach Lowell Hamilton
Evan Prince - Cross Country
HS Boy
Senior Captain Evan Prince, in his third state meet in a row as an Indian, placed third out of 201 harriers in a course best time of 16:45.07, which ranked him 24th out of 1649 overall amongst the eight races in two days. Despite an injury that kept him from running much - he only ran approximately 20 miles in the last three weeks (compared to what he and the elite normally run - about 120-150 miles during the same time), yet cross-trained in the pool and on the bikes, rower, and ski erg with even more determination, he overcame what would have buried others. He followed his state meet effort with a 19th place finish (16:03.73) at the prestigious Meet of Champions, an all-classification all-star meet. Evan continues to create a legacy of work ethic, confidence, and elite level discomfort threshold. -coach Scott Neal
Sarah Wilkinson - Cheerleading
MS Girl
Sarah Wilkinson is leading the cheer squad in a positive way. She not only helps her fellow cheerleaders learn cheers but also helps to boost everyone's mood. Sarah is always working hard at practice and leads the cheer team in cheers during the game. -coach Chrissy Van Hooser
Frankie Pribyl - Swimming
MS Boy
Frankie Pribyl is our nominee for this week. Frankie has been working hard at practice to improve after a challenging 2020-21 season. Frankie's determination and hard work paid off this past Saturday as he dropped a collective 24 seconds in his two individual events. -coach Rachel Nichols
