Nancy Fisher signs with Toccoa Falls College to continue volleyball career

Tallulah Falls senior Nancy Fisher of Cornelia signed her national letter of intent on Wednesday to pursue her academic and athletic career in volleyball at Toccoa Falls College, an NCCAA member located in nearby Toccoa Falls.

"I am very excited and blessed to have the opportunity to go to Toccoa Falls College and continue my athletic career as a Screaming Eagle,” exclaims Fisher, who was surrounded by teammates, friends, and family.

Fisher has put in years of hard work to get to this point.

“Nancy has been essential to the success of our program these past few years advancing to the sweet sixteen two years in a row,”  says Tallulah Falls coach Matt Heyl. “Nancy’s commitment and dedication to TFS and the sport of volleyball have paid off. Her versatility, team-first attitude, and coachability will be greatly missed. We are all very proud of this soon-to-be college athlete."

Fisher’s play on the court has long been admired by teammates and coaches, and obviously caught the eyes of Toccoa Falls.

“I saw Nancy a few years ago while she was trying out for our travel volleyball club,” says Toccoa Falls coach Jose Torres. “At that time, I must have said something that really impacted her, because when she came to our TFC tryouts it was really like I knew her and she completely connected with my coaching philosophy. I am truly honored and humbled that Nancy and her parents are giving me the opportunity to develop Nancy to become a stronger follower of our amazing God, a great citizen, a fantastic student, and a killer on the volleyball court. Nancy’s potential is about to be exposed. We will keep her safe but we will challenge her every day to become a better version of herself.”

Fisher has been heavily involved at TFS, taking part in the recycling Club and chorus, where she was an Honor's and All-State Chorus member. Fisher was a one-time BLITZ Volleyball Player of the Week winner and multiple Indian of the Week winner while at TFS, and showed up regularly on the Honor Roll.

“Earning the privilege to continue playing the sport she loves, Nancy has opened doors for others,” adds Athletic Director Scott Neal. “Her tenacity is a great example of pursuing a dream with passion and purpose.”
