Indians of the Week for week ending April 9
TFS has named the Indian of the Week for the week of April 4-9. This week's selections are Julianne Shirley and Evan Prince for high school, and Carsyn Griffis and Bryson Perdue for middle school. MORE INDIANS OF THE WEEK
Julianne Shirley - Track & Field
HS Girl
Sophomore Julianne Shirley had multiple personal records this week in track and field meet at Habersham Central and the national select all American classic in Columbia South Carolina. She tied the score high jump record at 5 feet, set personal best in the 100 and 200 M, and consistently runs the second fastest leg on the 4 x 4 relay team. Julianne is a well balanced, focused, positive athlete who continually demonstrates love to teammates, respect for peers, and A strong desire to help the team create a season of significance. -coach Scott Neal
Evan Prince - Track & Field
HS Boys
Senior team captain Evan Prince had a school record-setting week. He shattered the 800 M school record in 1:57.04 while winning the Habersham Quad meet. That time is ranked state #15 and A-Private #1 at the moment. He followed that up with a 3200 M time of 9:19.36 for 6th place at the 171 school, 10 state All American Classic in Columbia, SC, breaking the school record by 10 seconds and earning a state #6 and A-Private #1 ranking. -coach Scott Neal
Carsyn Griffis - Track & Field
MS Girl
Eighth grader Carsyn Griffis is a three sport athlete who puts her heart and soul in practices and competition, as well as being a GREAT teammate! She is willing to sacrifice her own desires to help the team score points in whatever events. She leads the team in both work ethic and true positive command! -coach Scott Neal
Bryson Perdue - Track & Field
MS Boy
Bryson Perdue has won multiple track and field shot put and discus events in the last few weeks, throwing the platter beyond 100 feet multiple times and nearly 40 feet with the round metal ball. He has caught on quickly to the events and is quite competitive while honing his new craft of throwing objects! -coach Scott Neal
