Season Preview: MS Volleyball

The Tallulah Falls MS volleyball team opens the 2022 season with expectations to once again progress as the year goes on. In 2021, TFS fielded an A-Team and B-Team in middle school volleyball. Despite being a young roster, the A-Team went 12-5 and came in third in the conference tournament, while the B-Team was 4-3-3 overall. The returning players from last year's group remembers well their six straight wins during the season, and starting out 7-0 in conference play.

Those who return in 2022 from last year's team include eighth graders LB Kafsky, Caylin Tucker, Shelby Whisnant, and Ryleigh Wilson. That quartet will be relied upon often this season on a team that is comprised of nine seventh graders and five sixth graders along with the four eighth graders.

The team will be coached by Jo Kimbrel, and have a schedule that features five home matches throughout the season. While the season is slated to begin shortly, the girls have been working hard ahead of the opening date.

"I look forward to seeing what the girls have learned thus far on the court, and am excited to see their progression during the season," says Kimbrel.

The Lady Indians start the 2022 campaign with a Preseason Jamboree at Habersham Central on Saturday, August 13. TFS will take on Trinity Classical, Stephens County, and Rabun County in the jamboree. The official opener comes at home on August 16 against Trinity Classical.
