Indians, Lady Indians rack up All-Region honors

With the conclusion of the historic 2023 season for both the Indians and Lady Indians, All-Region teams and awards were named for Region 8-A DI on Monday.

Major awards were won by Austin Ball (Region Player of the Year), Jeremy Stille (Coach of the Year), Addie Higbie (Offensive Player of the Year), Josie Chesser and Jake Wehrstein (Defensive Players of the Year), and several named 1st Team and 2nd Team All-Region.

For the Indians, juniors Ball and Wehrstein were named 1st Team All-Region along with senior Jake Hall, junior Brit Shaw, and sophomores Kelton Reynolds and Clay Kafsky.

Freshman Laith Reynolds and sophomores Landon Hall and Jared Mullis were named 2nd Team All-Region honorees.

The Lady Indians had senior Higbie and junior Chesser named to the 1st Team, as well as junior Kyndal Anderson and senior Maddie Mullis. The 2nd Team All-Region list included junior Tessa Foor and sophomore Gemma Farris.
