Alumni Success Story: Baylee MacBeth '21

When Baylee MacBeth (’21) enrolled in dual enrollment courses at TFS, he wasn’t just getting ahead; he was reshaping his academic trajectory. Those early college credits ultimately shaved an entire year off his undergraduate studies at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and in December, MacBeth completed his master’s degree from the University of Georgia.

“I’m in my early twenties, starting my career with a master’s,” MacBeth said. “I’m working as a geologist with GeoWave Solutions Inc. in Atlanta.”

MacBeth’s journey with TFS began in the sixth grade, giving him years to grow within a community he describes as foundational to his success. The relationships he built with both his peers and faculty created an environment where he felt supported and confident.

That sense of comfort gave MacBeth the confidence to take academic risks, including enrolling in dual-enrollment courses. Not only did dual enrollment help position him as valedictorian, but it also gave him a significant head start in college.
