Alumni Success Story: Anne Kathryn Edwards '17

Anne Kathryn Edwards (’17) still remembers a sophomore-year trip to Charleston as a turning point during her time at TFS. “I fell in love with the area and the history,” she said. “I loved that trip so much, I knew I wanted to live there for a season.” Years later, that early spark turned into reality.

After graduating from TFS, Edwards earned her nursing degree from Berry College, attending on the Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarship. “TFS set me up for that scholarship opportunity,” she shared. She worked in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta before trading the hospital setting to serve as a nurse at Camp Laurel in Maine. From there, she made the long-anticipated move to Charleston, where she worked as an operating room nurse.

Edwards credits TFS with preparing her for the demands of college and beyond. A three-sport athlete, she balanced honors coursework with sports, learning time management skills that continue to serve her today.
