Rising TFS Freshman Earns Spot in 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games

Just four years ago, McKinley Blinn of Alto walked into a gymnastics class at Reign Elite in Cleveland simply to try something new. Today, the 14-year-old is preparing to compete among the nation’s top young gymnasts after qualifying for the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games.

Kinley’s impressive postseason began April 25 at the AAU Georgia State Championships in Kennesaw, where she captured the state championship on the balance beam. Her performance demonstrated the confidence and consistency that have become hallmarks of her gymnastics career.

She advanced to the AAU Southern Regional Championships on May 31 in Greenville, South Carolina, where she earned second place on floor exercise while competing against some of the top gymnasts from across the southern United States.

Kinley’s season culminated on June 20 at the AAU National Championships in Knoxville, Tennessee. Competing against athletes from across the country, she earned Top 10 National Finisher honors and placed fourth all-around in her division with a score of 38.225.

Her individual event results included:

• First place on beam (9.675)
• Fourth place on bars (9.550)
• Third place on floor exercise (9.500)
• Eighth place on vault (9.500)

These outstanding performances secured Kinley a place on the AAU National Team and qualified her for the 2026 AAU Junior Olympic Games, which will be held Aug. 3-7 in Des Moines, Iowa.

Balancing academics, training, travel, and competition requires a level of commitment uncommon for someone her age. As a student at Tallulah Falls School, Kinley demonstrates the same dedication in the classroom that she brings to the gym.
