Tallulah Falls School Recognizes 2025 Award Winners; Announces Christmas Card and Door Decorating Contest Winners
Tallulah Falls School proudly honored its outstanding students, faculty, and staff for 2025 during a special assembly held on December 17.
“It is a privilege to celebrate the exceptional accomplishments of our TFS community,” said President and Head of School Larry A. Peevy. “These honors recognize the dedication, talent, and daily effort of our students, faculty, and staff.”

This year’s award recipients included West Ridlehoover of Cornelia, Outstanding Middle School Student of the Year; Sonya Chesser, Outstanding Middle School Faculty Member of the Year; senior Carsyn Griffis of Tallulah Falls, Outstanding Upper School Student of the Year; and Dr. Kevin Barbour, Outstanding Upper School Faculty Member of the Year.

Upper School Administrative Assistant Katlyn Alley and Assistant Director of Plant Services Brent Baker were named the outstanding staff members of the year, and Jeremy Stille was named the Light in the Mountains honoree (outstanding President’s Executive Staff member of the year).
The assembly also featured the announcement of the winners of the 2025 Christmas card art contest. Freshman Guy Kennedy of Eastanollee designed the winning upper school card, while eighth-grader Sophia Franklin of Mount Airy created the winning middle school card.


Second place in the upper school division was awarded to junior Sophie Smith of Clarkesville, followed by sophomore Hudson Penland of Demorest in third place. In the middle school division, Madyx Price of Cornelia placed second, and Emrie Turner of Demorest placed third.
Winners of the annual Christmas door decorating contest, sponsored by the Stone Mountain Woman’s Club and coordinated by Martha Lee Sherman, a member of the Georgia Federation of Women’s Clubs (GFWC), were also announced. “We really enjoyed all of the doors,” said Sherman before congratulating the winners. GFWC member Linda Mote helped present the prizes.
In the lower/middle school division, Nancy Almoyan’s door earned first place, followed by Michelle Carnes in second and Natasha McEntire in third. Upper school winners included Kevin Barbour in first place, Jennifer Cox in second, and Sheri Dunn in third.
