Our Diverse Community

Celebrating diversity, fostering belonging — this is Tallulah Falls School.

A middle school student from Georgia is paired with a student from China for a science project. Upper school students from Spain are in the same club and on the same sports team as students from South Carolina. A student from the Bahamas has a chance to spend time with a family of basketball teammates. One school has the power to unite eager learners from every corner of the world. Here, every student is included and celebrated.

At Tallulah Falls School, students representing different cultures merge to create a singular synergy that is evident in the classroom, the dorm, and throughout the campus.

Students learn from and interact with fellow classmates from around the world. This unique aspect of school culture inspires a broader worldview for all students.

TFS has a student body of 500-plus students with many countries and states represented. This leads to a deeper understanding of how other people live and attracts students from different parts of the world to come together in one special place.

International Day on Campus

Global education is incorporated into everyday life, including “International Week,” which gives students from each country represented on campus a moment to shine.

Diversity is welcomed here, and life in the beautiful Northeast Georgia mountains at Tallulah Falls School is the perfect place to experience it.

Our International Community

Tallulah Falls School celebrates its international student population. The cultural enrichment for all of our students comes as a result of having such a diverse campus experience.

International Food

During International Week each year at TFS, Flik Dining Services offers various popular cuisines and entrees that give some students a taste of home, and others a new experience.

Shine the Light.

We could explain what the culture is like at Tallulah Falls School, and how our international students fit in like family. Or you can take their word for it.

CLASS OF 2025

When I came to TFS, I was concerned about how I would be accepted, as I came from a different culture and religion. Teachers and staff made sure that I was able to observe Ramadan, and even the dorm counselors tried their best to help me. They provided food for me and were flexible. All of the workers in the dining hall respected my diet restrictions. When they learned that I didn’t eat pork, before I even asked them, they would pull me to the corner and give me chicken. They just smile and have something else for me. There are not a lot of places that would not do that. I have felt very respected and welcomed.

CLASS OF 2025

I am from Panama Oeste, La Chorrera, Panama. I’ve been a boarding student at TFS for two years. I have developed more confidence in myself and become more independent, and I have learned to value even the smallest things. From the moment I arrived, I felt very welcome by everyone. I love this school. I love Tallulah Falls. I love the teachers. They encourage students to be better and to be good individuals in life. When I had a hard day, teachers knew how to find a way to make me happy. As a boarder, getting to know people from different countries helped me create different perspectives. Even though we are from different countries, we share similarities. I have learned about many cultures, and now I want to visit those countries. I've made many friends here. I have loved being here.

CLASS OF 2025

TFS is my home away from home. I have made so many international and American friends. We become like a big family, like siblings. I am a part of clubs, drama, sports, and I have had multiple leadership opportunities. I also love the activities and trips that the residential staff provide for the boarding students. My favorite trip is at the end of the year – Y Camp. We hang out with friends and fish. I caught two fish! From the moment I arrived, I have made the most of every moment. I have learned how to study. I have learned a great deal about leadership through opportunities to lead and speak publicly. I have learned how to write – I know how to write an essay, and I have been writing for so long! I have learned so much.
