MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Eighth-grader Hannah Ferrier of Gainesville was named an Indian of the Month by middle school volleyball coach Rebekah Kanipe. “Hannah shows impressive improvement and a strong capability to adjust,” said Kanipe. “She managed to change her overhand serve overnight and has been getting aces with it. She has a big personality and is a team leader.” 

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Seventh-grader Austin Ball of Tiger has been selected as an Indian of the Month by middle school soccer coach Travis Mullis. “Austin is a remarkable young man,” said Mullis. “He is an encouraging leader, full of energy and possesses a jovial soul. As captain of the team, he is an expressive leader that the team really listens to. He is hard-working and selfless but also seeks out ways to serve in his community.”

VARSITY GIRL

Junior Kate Blackburn of Demorest was named an Indian of the Month by varsity volleyball coach Matt Heyl. “Kate has given her whole heart to chasing down every ball, every game,” said Heyl. “She tries to provide her teammates with the best set possible. Despite many knocks and bruises from sacrificing her body on the floor she still gives it her all every time. Kate’s relentless effort to help her team has won their respect.” 

VARSITY BOY

Sophomore Cainan Yaskiewicz of Highlands, North Carolina was selected as an Indian of the Month by varsity soccer coach Brett Adams. “Two highly prized characteristics that any coach admires are work ethic and coachability,” said Adams. “Cainan has embodied these over the last several weeks with requests for individual instruction and responsiveness to coaching. He maintains a fantastic attitude and likewise encourages others.”
