TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for Sept. 24-29.

Middle school girl

Middle school volleyball coach Rebekah Kanipe selected eighth-grader Xan Stallings of Jonesborough, Tennessee at the Indian Athlete of the Week.
“Xan exhibits strong athleticism,” coach Kanipe said. “She was able to adjust to a new position and followed through. She has improved on serves as well.”

Middle school boy

Middle school tennis coach Mark Wilcox selected sixth-grader Tanner Davis of Cornelia as the Indian Athlete of the Week.
“Tanner, just a sixth-grader and new to tennis this year, has worked himself up from the exhibition team all the way to the No. 3 singles player,” coach Wilcox said. “He has won all of his singles matches with the last one being an 8-0 win at Rabun Gap last Thursday.”

Varsity girl

Varsity volleyball coach Matthew Heyl selected sophomore Rebekah Jennings of Clarkesville as the Indian Athlete of the Week.
“Rebekah stepped up her game big time in our matches last Thursday versus Chestatee and our rival Habersham Central,” coach Heyl said. “Rebekah was able to dig anything Habersham threw our way. Not only was she digging and passing amazingly she also served very aggressively to help in our victories.”

Varsity boy

Varsity boys soccer coach Brett Adams selected senior Marvin Thienukul of Thailand as the Indian Athlete of the Week.
“Consistent, responsible, team-oriented, selfless, responsive and possessing a strong work ethic are adequate descriptors of this quiet leader,” coach Adams said. “Marvin’s positive team presence translates into consistent match performance in our midfield as a crucial passer and ball distributor. His field vision and tactical understanding of the game are critical attributes of a midfielder. He handles the responsibility very well and is respected by fellow teammates.”
