TFS coaches name Indians of the Week

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for November 12-17.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Sixth-grader Chesney Tanksley of Mt. Airy was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school girls basketball coach Sharea Long. “Chesney really stepped up her game in practice this week,” Long said. “She became more confident in her passing and was adept at receiving various types of passes from her teammates. She stepped out of her comfort zone and communicated on the floor and showed a GREAT work ethic.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Sixth-grader Monil Patel of Homer was named an Indian of the Week by middle school basketball coach Logan James. “Monil is a hustler on the court who loves to play the game of basketball,” James said. “Being a role player, he comes off the bench and immediately inspires his teammates with his intensity. His work ethic in practice is unmatched.”

VARSITY GIRL

Senior Virginia Griswold of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by varsity swim coach Annette Cochran. “Virginia was on a mission this past week,” Cochran said. “She was out to break records as she qualified for state in three individual events. She also helped her relay team qualify for state in the 200 IM relay, where she set a new school record, as well as the 200-yard freestyle relay. Virginia was really amazing this past week.”

VARSITY BOY

Senior Jake Carver of Demorest was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity boys basketball coach Jim Van Hooser. “Jake has been a steady influence as captain of the Indians,” Van Hooser said. “In three games this week Jake had an effective field goal percentage of 65. He makes all of his three-point attempts, led the team with 13 assists and ran the offense effectively. In addition to these, Jake had the game-winning three-pointer at the end of the contest against King’s Ridge Christian School to cap a 64-63 come-from-behind victory.”
