TFS Lady Indians win two out of three at holiday tournament

Momentum continues to build for the Tallulah Falls School varsity girls basketball team.

In the Region 8A Holiday Classic tournament held Dec. 27-19, the team won two out of three games, beating Prince Avenue on Dec. 27 with a final score of 52-46 and beating Athens Christian, with a final score of 58-29.

The Lady Indians came up short after the third game versus Athens Academy went into overtime, with a final score of 43-47.

According to head coach Brandy Corbett, the team ends its 2018 campaign with a 10-4 record.

“We made positive gains in the first 14 games this season and I am very proud of each and every young lady on the team,” Corbett said. Of the loss on the final day of the tournament, Corbett said fatigue played a role.
“The three-day, back-to-back days of play impacted our stamina and decision-making at the end of the game,” she added.
