TFS coaches name Indians of the Week for Dec. 29-Jan. 5

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for Dec. 29-Jan. 5.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Sixth-grader Madeline Martin of Cornelia was named an Indian of the Week by TFS swim coach Annette Cochran. “Madeline has a great attitude and accepts the challenge of swimming new events,” Cochran said. “Just this weekend, she swam the breaststroke for the first time. She listens well to criticism and critiquing and makes changes as needed to improve. Even as a new swimmer Madeline has qualified for the GISA State Championships in four different individual events.”

VARSITY GIRL

Freshman Maggie Peacock of Clarkesville was named an Indian of the Week by swim coach Annette Cochran. “Maggie is a great swimmer who is still learning to develop and improve her technique,” Cochran said. “She practiced hard over the break and her dedication showed at the meet. She improved her times and encouraged her teammates to do their best. Maggie always has a positive attitude and tries her best at meets as well as practice.”

VARSITY BOY

Sophomore Simeon Respress of Cleveland was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity boys basketball coach Jim Van Hooser. “While Simeon has not been our leading scorer, he has consistently worked at being a better offensive player and has also worked hard to develop his perimeter shooting. Simeon has consistently been one of the best defenders in our region.”
