Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the week for Feb. 11-16.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Eighth-grader Kate Trotter of Demorest was named a Tallulah Falls School Indian of the Week by middle school track & field coach Scott Neal. “Kate placed second in the 800m (2:59.56 - No. 2 TFS Legacy List) and in the 1500m (5:52.69 - a new school indoor record) at Riverside Military Academy’s Middle School Experience indoor track & field meet,” said Neal. “Kate took advantage of this first-ever TFS middle school indoor meet to inspire others with her tenacity and poise. She trains with purpose and seeks to help her team in any way she can.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Eighth-grader Nelson Wilkinson of Cleveland was selected as an Indian of the Week by track & field coach Scott Neal. “Nelson came back from illness to win the shot put at 37’ 3,” said Neal. “This was good enough for No. 4 on the TFS Legacy List. Nelson also placed second in the 400m and fourth in the 200m at the Riverside Military Academy middle school indoor meet. Nelson is a talented, competitive Team Leader who consistently practices with a focus to improve and compete.”

VARSITY GIRL

Junior Taylor McAvoy of Lavonia was named an Indian of the Week by varsity tennis coach Randy Morris. “Taylor showed GREAT poise in her first match of the season,” Morris said. “She had to make adjustments during the match to return her opponents extremely hard serve. Taylor fought hard, and even though she fell a little short in the score, she earned the admiration of her opponent, coaches and fans.”

VARSITY BOY

Senior Caleb Griffis was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity track & field coach Scott Neal. “Caleb is a track & field captain whose daily leadership inspires,” said Neal. “His mentoring efforts for younger athletes is the epitome of GREAT and his work ethic is focused for continual improvement in his throwing.”
