TFS varsity track & field continues record-setting season

 
 

 

At a March 14 Hebron Friday Night Under the Lights meet, Tallulah Falls School placed sixth of 10 schools for both the boys and girls teams.

Highlights include the victorious and school record-setting Lady Indian 4x800m and 4x1600m relays comprised of junior Maria Whitson of Alto, junior Laurel Smith of Clayton and sisters junior Sophie Alexander and freshman Lucy Alexander of Sautee-Nacoochee

According to Athletic Director Scott Neal, senior Damali Danavall of Jonesboro won the discus with a season-best heave.  

Senior Jenni Gallagher of Clarkesville tied her pole vault personal record while junior Reid Kafsky of Clarkesville triple jumped her best to place fourth. Sophomore Emily Gay of Clarkesville vaulted a PR.

Junior Gabe Iluma of Nigeria won the pole vault with a PR 12’ 6 leap while sophomore Grey Bourlet of Tallulah Falls won both hurdle races after also clearing 12’ 6 as runner-up in the pole vault.

Junior Mohamed Kanu of Decatur set PRs in the long jump, triple jump and 200m.  

Senior Chance Bess of Tampa, FL placed second in the discus with a season-best whirl.

Next meet: The team travels to Landmark Christian on March 23.
