TFS coaches name Indians of the Month

Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected their Indian athletes of the month for March.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Seventh-grader Kyndal Anderson was selected as an Indian of the Month by middle school soccer coach Travis Mullis. “Kyndal is new to the sport this year but has proven herself as a valuable asset as goalkeeper,” Mullis said. “She has adapted quickly to this position making pivotal saves that have kept the team in the game. Recently a coach from the Rapids FC club expressed interest in watching her play to consider asking her to join his team. This is a tribute to Kyndal’s great potential. Kyndal is well liked by her teammates and is quick to attempt to learn anything the coaches expect.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Sixth-grader Zach Freeman of Demorest was named and Indian of the Month by middle school track & field coach Scott Neal. “Zach has grown tremendously as a middle school track & field athlete,” Neal said. “He learned to hurdle and long jump this month and has progressed rapidly in skill acquisition. He has clearly demonstrated a passion for improvement within a competitive fire. Zach is learning the nuances that will help his future while displaying that youthful joy of team, competition and being necessary.”

VARSITY GIRL

Sophomore Maggie Jackson of Clarkesville was selected as an Indian of the Month by varsity golf coach Allen Campbell. “Maggie currently has the lowest scoring average in TFS girls golf history,” Campbell said. “She has broken or tied four school records this season and has been the match or school low medalist in 60% of the matches this season.”

VARSITY BOY

Sophomore Chathan Clouatre of Toccoa was named an Indian of the Month by varsity baseball coach Mark Wilcox. “Chathan has excelled thus far in one of the more difficult positions in the sport,” Wilcox said. “Offensively, Chathan has been a stalwart at the plate with a .571 average. Over the span of the month, Chathan registered eight hits, seven walks and has had five RBIs. Defensively he has been outstanding, continuously blocking wild pitches and framing pitches to turn some balls into strikes. He has also used his strong arm to throw out a number of runners. Chathan is a quiet leader, and his leadership comes through his toughness, perseverance and consistent intensity.”
