Tallulah Falls School coaches have selected Indian Athletes of the Week for Dec. 9-14.

MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRL

Seventh-grader Haygen James of Demorest was named an Indian of the Week by middle school girls’ basketball coach Sharae Long. “As one of our captains, Haygen works diligently to improve her game and lead by example,” Long said. “She was a key factor in our win over Highlands, scoring 21 points and pulling down multiple rebounds. Haygen is a positive team player who loves her teammates and encourages them to play their best. Haygen strives to be the best she can be on and off the court.”

MIDDLE SCHOOL BOY

Eighth-grader Sam Ketch of Clarkesville was selected as an Indian of the Week by middle school boys’ basketball coach Tom Tilley. “Sam accumulated 36 rebounds and 20 points in two big wins vs. Tri-State conference rivals this past week,” Tilley said. “Aside from his outstanding leadership abilities, Sam has a special knack of grabbing rebounds.”

VARSITY GIRL

Freshman Veronaye Charlton of the Bahamas was named an Indian of the Week by varsity girls’ basketball coach Brandy Corbett. “Veronaye played extremely well in our games against Landmark Christian and Highlands,” Corbett said. “Veronaye scored a total of 32 points, pulled in nine rebounds, had four assists, deflected five balls and grabbed six steals. She may be small in stature, but her spirit is big and her positive energy is infectious. She has made an immediate positive impact on our program.”

VARSITY BOY

Freshman Dan Griswold of Demorest was selected as an Indian of the Week by varsity swim coach Rachel Nichols. “Dan consistently arrives to practice with a positive attitude and determination to improve in his swims,” Nichols said. “His determination proved successful as this past weekend he dropped six seconds in his 100-yard freestyle for a new personal record while also swimming a personal record in the 100-yard breaststroke.”
