Varsity Boys narrowly fall to Towns in scrimmage
Chaz Mullis - A coordinated Towns County varsity team took the victory at home against the varsity boys by a very small margin, ending the game at 66-67. The unofficial matchup proved to be a tough lesson for the Indians and a chance to see the difficulty at which they will have to play against.
Towns led in all 4 quarters (12-19, 26-29, 35-42, 66-67), but the talent on the side of the Indians kept the boys' drive in motion. Devonte Allen and Simeon Respress proved to be key players for the Indians, with Allen shooting most of the points scored by the team during the game and with Respress showing his defensive capabilities in the fourth quarter that helped secure some key scoring possessions.
Allen had 10 first half points, while Sammy Davis had 12 in the first half alone. The first official game for the Indians will be played against Rabun Gap on November 21.
