TFS splits in varsity action at Rabun Gap

 
 

The TFS varsity basketball teams traveled to nearby Rabun Gap on Saturday evening, and left with a split as the Lady Indians edged out a 4-point win on the road. The Indians fell 69-30.

The Lady Indians were led by a trio of double-digit scorers in Veronaye Charlton, Katy Corbett and Denika Lightbourne. Charlton had a game-high 15 points, while Corbett and Lightbourne had 14 and 12, respectively. Iray Adeleke came up big in the paint hauling in numerous rebounds down the stretch.

TFS was up by five after the first quarter, and led by a single point at halftime. That lead remained at one going into the fourth quarter, as the Lady Indians finished strong for the win.

The boys found themselves down at the half, 69-30, and went on to lose 95-51.

The girls are 2-0 on the season, while the boys are 0-1.
