Veronaye Charlton - Basketball
High School Girl
The Lady Indian of the month for December 2020 is Veronaye Charlton. During December, the Lady Indians record was 5-1 due in large part to contributions made on and off the floor by Charlton. "Tweedy" averaged 80% from the free-throw line and 50% from the field in amassing 16 points per game in December. Also, she averaged 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals per game. More importantly, Veronaye continues to develop as a leader both on the floor and on the sideline encouraging her teammates to reach their highest potential.

Henry Rickman is a returning swimmer who consistently comes to practice ready to work hard. Henry’s positive attitude also inspires his teammates to do well and work hard not only at practice but at competitions as well. Henry swam two personal best times at our Winter Snow invitational, one of which was the 100-yard freestyle where he broke the 1-minute barrier. These times also helped him score 26 points for his team.

Haygen James averaged 15 points per game during a short December schedule, raking in 21 points against a very tough Towns county team. Not only does she put points on the board, she pulls big rebounds, distributes the ball to her teammates and leads by example. Elijah Barker - Basketball
Middle School Boy
Seventh grader Elijah Barker is the middle school boys basketball nominee for Indian of the Month. Elijah has taken a lot on his shoulders this season being one of the leaders of the "B" team. He has led the team in scoring in three out of five games this year and has led in rebounds every game. Being the leading scorer, the opposing defenses consistently target their physical defensive efforts against him. Through all that, Elijah always has a smile on his face and works hard to improve as an individual player, person, and teammate. He encourages his peers and is a true model of GREAT character for our athletics program.
