TFS varsity golfers tie for first at West Hall Invite

Tallulah Falls School junior student-athletes Brinson Hall of Mt. Airy and Maggie Jackson of Clarkesville each finished with a score of 82, tying for first place in the West Hall Invitational played at Chateau Elan on March 7.

Fifteen golf teams with more than 50 girls participated in the tournament, according to coach Allen Campbell.

“From the beginning, scores were expected to be higher than normal because of the tough conditions. Due to heavy rains, the range was closed and the players were not allowed to warm up,” Campbell said. “At the start of play, the temperature was 32 degrees and much of the course was still very wet. We ended up with a beautiful day and Brinson and Maggie managed to put together solid rounds, finishing strong on the back nine.”

Hall was low medalist at the event after a scorecard playoff, Campbell added.

Campbell said freshman Hannah Lundy put together a solid back nine, rounding out the scoring for Tallulah Falls School and giving the team a strong fifth-place finish.
