Junior Varsity Recap

The Lady Indians shrugged off a 2-0 loss to host White County, finding their stride in a 2-0 win over Lakeview to leave the floor on a high note.

"After getting off to a tough start against White County in the first set, we started shaking off the jitters and finding our rhythm," says JV coach Matt Crotta. "Unfortunately, it was too late to catch Warriors and push them to a third set. Claire Kelly came through with some big blocks at the net to slow up White's strong hitters, and Cristina Rodenas helped control some tough serves to keep us competitive."

In the win over a strong Lakeview team, Crotta had high praises for his program in the second match.

"Well-placed sets by Carol Dunlap and Marissa Gergini made for a barrage of strong spikes for middle hitters, Claire Kelly and Layne Kafsky," says Crotta. "Julianne Shirley also laid out her own firepower from the service line giving TFS multiple aces. Libero Reese Wilson also contributed from the service line and played excellent defense from the back row.

The JV team earned its first win of the young season, and are now 1-4 overall.
