History made as TFS grabs win in first-ever C-Team volleyball match

The Tallulah Falls School Lady Indians volleyball C-Team, or freshman team, had their first-ever tri-match on Wednesday night at Cherokee Bluff.

"The girls beat Lanier in a suspenseful back and forth match," says coach Matt Crotta.

TFS dropped the opening set, 17-25, but tied up the match with a 25-18 second-set win. The Lady Indians won the decisive third set, 16-14.

"Reese Wilson had a stellar match controlling the back row defense and having multiple scoring runs from her serve," says Crotta. "Kyndal Anderson's strong serving also contributed to the hard earned win for TFS."

The team then squared off against a tall and talented Cherokee Bluff JV team.

"Despite feeling a bit intimidated, the C Squad stepped up their game and showed up to battle," says Crotta.

TFS had been within a point of dropping the first set before strong serving from Jaylan Garrison and Anderson. Ultimately, Cherokee Bluff took the set 25-20, and won the second set, and therefore the match, 25-17.

The night continued with TFS taking on Winder Barrow. The Lady Indians took the opening set 30-28, but dropped the next set 22-25. Winder took the finale as well.

"Despite playing well as a team under the strong leadership of captain, Reese Wilson, the sharp serving from the Bulldogs proved to be too hot to handle for the Indians again in the third set giving the match to Winder Barrow," adds Crotta.

The C-Team opens its season at 1-2 overall.
