MS volleyball closes regular season with matches against Jefferson

The TFS middle school volleyball team competed at home against Jefferson on Tuesday in what marked the last regular season game for the Lady Indians. The A-Team battled against a talented Jefferson team but fell short, while the B-Team lost two straight sets.

The A-Team lost the first set 15-25 but came back to win the second set. In the second, the girls had a stellar performance all around. They communicated well and repeatedly extended rallies with exceptional effort. After forcing a third set, the Lady Indians were set up to secure the victory but unfortunately could not finish.

"Even though we fell short, the girls never gave up and fought through every rally," says coach Tim Corbett. "As we prepare for the division tournament on Saturday, the girls proved they could compete after going toe to toe with the #1 seed."

The B-Team lost both sets against Jefferson. In the first set, they fell 15-25, and again in the second set, 17-25.

"Jefferson had some strong servers/hitters, and we struggled on the receiving end at times," says coach Hannah Satterfield. "Overall, we are proud of the way the B-Team developed this season and confident in the program's future with these young players."

The A-Team finished the regular season with a 10-5 overall mark and 7-3 in conference play, while the B-Team was 4-4-3 overall and 4-3-3 against area teams. The East Division tournament is on Saturday, with the time and opponent to be determined.
