MS tennis boys, girls take crucial league wins over Rabun Gap
The TFS MS tennis teams earned a couple of road match wins at Rabun Gap on Thursday afternoon. The boys squeaked out a 3-2 win, while the girls shut out Rabun Gap 5-0.
"The girls won in a very workmanlike manner against a short-handed Rabun Gap squad," says coach Anthony Cox. "Gracey and Savana played a great match together for a victory."
The girls won two lines by way of forfeit, and the boys were able to come up with enough lines to claim the match.
"Jackson Davis was huge in clinching his victory in his first singles match," adds Cox. "Then the #1 doubles pair of Fenn NeSmith and Elijah Pinney took the lead and held on to seal the victory for the boys team. Hudson Keller and Joseph Turney were totally dominant in their first match this year."
The Lady Indians are now 3-4 overall and 2-1 in league matches, while the boys advance to 5-2 overall and 2-1 in league play. The teams are back in action Tuesday at home against Habersham.
