Tallulah Falls MS tennis beats Macon County, earns first round bye in upcoming tournament

It was worth the wait, but the MS tennis teams wrapped up their regular season at Macon County on Thursday afternoon after a 45-minute rain delay. Both the Indians and Lady Indians earned wins that clinch first round byes in the upcoming league tournament.

The girls took a 4-1 win in which all singles players were victorious, while the boys scratched out a 3-2 win.

"Joseph [Turney] and Fenn [NeSmith] were clutch in holding on to seal the victory for the boys," says coach Anthony Cox. "Gracey [Eller] and Savana [Owensby] played very well together today to clinch for the girls, and Olivia [Bonner] was very strong and has improved a ton since the beginning of the season."

The wins bring the boys to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in league play, while the girls advance to 5-4 overall and 4-1 in league action.

"Overall it was a great league regular season for both squads," adds Cox. "We look forward to seeing what we can do in the league tournament."

The tournament is slated for next week, with the first TFS opponents to be determined due to Tallulah Falls boys and girls both securing the first round byes.
