Life at Tallulah Falls School

At Tallulah Falls School, you’ll join a diverse and welcoming community of students from around the world. Here, friendships grow naturally, and you’ll share experiences that connect you with people from many different backgrounds. Along the way, you’ll gain new perspectives, learn to appreciate diverse ways of life, and carry those lessons with you wherever you go.

At Tallulah Falls School, student life goes far beyond the classroom. With a wide range of opportunities to explore passions, build community, and grow as individuals, our students are encouraged to get involved and make their mark. More than 75% of our students participate in athletics, where teamwork and character are forged through competition.

In the fine arts, creativity takes center stage—whether shaping clay, singing on pitch, or perfecting a recipe. Leadership and service are woven into the fabric of campus life, with clubs and volunteer opportunities that inspire students to lead with purpose. At TFS, every student can find their place, pursue their passions, and thrive in a diverse, vibrant community.

I discovered that establishing relationships with peers and staff created space for opportunities. I was a member of the cross country and track teams, I was in a play, I took visual arts and music, and I did eSports. I was president of the Interact Club and part of the ambassador program. I made it a point to learn everyone's name and establish a relationship with as many people as possible. Timothy Beck

Globally Minded

Nestled in the scenic Northeast Georgia mountains, Tallulah Falls School offers a unique environment where students are empowered to learn from one another, grow together, and become globally minded leaders. Every student at TFS is known, valued, and encouraged to thrive.

Students from across the country and around the world form a vibrant, inclusive community. With 500 students representing a wide range of cultures and backgrounds, TFS is a place where diversity is not only welcomed—it’s celebrated. Whether it’s a middle school student from Georgia collaborating on a science project with a peer from China, or high school athletes from Spain and South Carolina working side by side on the court, our campus thrives on meaningful connection.

From classroom discussions to cultural events like International Day, where students proudly share their heritage, global perspectives are woven into everyday life. Class trips to destinations like Charleston, Florida’s Space Coast, and Chattanooga give international students a deeper understanding of American culture and strengthen the shared experiences of the student body.

Community/Experiences

When I came to TFS, I was a really shy kid, but the Mid-mester trips helped me to make friends, and I became much more extroverted. On the ninth-grade trip to Florida, I didn’t know anyone, and I was nervous, but the experience helped me make friends. One of my friends has taught me so much about exploring my culture. I have opened up to my Hispanic heritage –  learning different music and dance. I also joined Key Club. I got involved in community work. I had not done anything like that before. It was exciting to get to be a part of Key Club. And, I had so many classes I could take. When I took college algebra with Ms. Morrison, she talked about jobs that involve math. She talked about land surveying, and I knew I would pursue a career that deals with land. I know I could only have had these experiences here at TFS.

Friendships

At TFS, we are often encouraged to try new things and get out of our comfort zones. My junior year, I took an intro to theater class. In that class, I developed some of my best friendships. I took theater again because of those friendships I formed, even friends in different grades with

whom I had not had other classes, and they have become my best friends. We depend on each other and show up for each other. I will carry those friendships with me for the rest of my life. It is more than just being in class with people. We really like each other and have fun.

Diversity

When I came to TFS, I was concerned about how I would be accepted, as I came from a different culture and religion. Teachers and staff made sure that I was able to observe Ramadan, and even the dorm counselors tried their best to help me. They provided food for me and were flexible. All of the workers in the dining hall respected my diet restrictions. When they learned that I didn’t eat pork, before I even asked them, they would pull me to the corner and give me chicken. They just smile and have something else for me. There are not a lot of places that would not do that. I have felt very respected and welcomed. Kayra Aksu
