Clubs

Acapella is a club that will have three performances per year, with a winter (Christmas) concert, Disney concert, and spring concert. There are solo opportunities, and rehearsals are open.

ACS is the perfect place for students passionate about STEM and eager to explore the world of science. Through engaging discussions and hands-on exploration, we tackle real-world challenges facing our society and harness the power of chemistry to find innovative solutions. ACS isn’t just about learning—it’s about sparking curiosity, fueling creativity, and deepening your understanding of chemistry while preparing you for a future in the sciences.

The Art Honor Society is dedicated to celebrating and promoting visual arts within the school community. By fostering a creative environment, the club encourages students to explore their artistic talents and engage in meaningful art-related projects. Club members create murals, graphic design logos and posters, and creative displays that enhance the school environment. They also participate in community service activities, such as creating art pieces for charity fundraisers and volunteering at local elementary school events, all while inspiring a love for the arts. Members of the Art Honor Society are passionate, creative individuals who strive to make a positive impact with their creative skills. They bring diverse talents in painting, drawing, digital art, ceramics, and sculpture, each contributing unique perspectives to collaborative projects. Beyond their love for art, members are dedicated to service, using their skills to give back to the community and enhance school spirit. They organize events, lead workshops, and participate in fundraisers, all while building a close-knit community that celebrates creativity and inspires others to appreciate the power of art. 

Eligibility requirements:

• submit completed application by the first Monday of September
• at least a 94% average in visual arts course(s)
• complete at least 3 AHS service hours during this fall semester (must be completed by the first Monday of November)
• taken (or currently enrolled) at least one semester of Visual Arts during Upper School (you do not have to be currently enrolled to apply if you have taken at least one semester in previous years)
• a desire to promote art making and art appreciation within the community and beyond
• deemed by the faculty council to have demonstrated responsible choices and strong character development 
• If selected, members are required to fulfill at least 5 service hours per semester at Art Honor Society sponsored events and activities.
• Grades, demerits, service hours and disciplinary issues are reviewed regularly.
• Upholding all of the Art Honor Society requirements is necessary to be a continuing member or officer.

The Bakeology Club serves others through baking (teachers, police officers, firemen, etc.). The club wants to share with the community, and desires to teach others how to bake because many students have not had the opportunity to learn. Though students have an opportunity to take Culinary Arts, this allows those who can't exposure to baking. Members meet once each month.

The BBQ Club, 1909 Mountain Smoke BBQ, launched in 2024. The team takes parts in competitions against others in the southeast. From chicken to ribs, the team competes in multiple categories.

The Board Games Club gets together to have some fun fellowship around playing several different board games.

The goal of the Chess Club is to allow existing chess players to play against each other in competitive or friendly formats, while also helping those new to the game to improve their skills and play against others at their skill level.

The purpose of this club is to invite others to explore Chinese culture and traditions. Students will engage in activities to better understand and connect with our Chinese students here at TFS.

The Tallulah Falls School Competitive Pony Program competes at Pony Shows throughout the southeast. Team members show ponies in several classes, including halter, roadster, hunter, jumping, showmanship, versatility, and country pleasure driving. The club competes with champion ponies provided by the President and Head of School, Dr. Larry A. Peevy.

Competitive Pony Program members practice several days a week year-round, conditioning the horses and practicing patterns. Students are responsible for helping to maintain their tack, equipment, and ponies. 

The club trains at the TFS equestrian center with program director Dinah Peevy. Several girls have participated in the program for their entire time at TFS. Girls can join the team in fourth grade and continue with the program through graduation. The group has won several championships, including reserve and national championships in 2023 and 2024. Numbers are limited by available ponies and equipment.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meets weekly, and the purpose of the members is to spread the love of Jesus Christ and share the Gospel. All are welcome to attend.

The Fly Fishing & Water Patrol Club seeks to learn about the sport of fly-fishing while making a difference in the community. This club is sponsored by the Soque River Watershed Association.

The Future Health Professionals Club helps students who are interested in going into a health-related career learn more about the medical field.

The Global Citizens Awareness Panel aims to empower, teach, lead, listen, share, connect, and unite the international and domestic community. Members meet every two months.

We want our students to connect with leaders in their community and around the world. Students will take action to make a meaningful difference in our school and community. They will discover new cultures and promote international understanding. We strive for students to become leaders in both the school and our community. Having fun and making new friends from around the world are an important aspect of this club.

The International Thespian Society allows for the induction of high school students based on the quality and quantity of work in all realms of theatre. Points can be earned from participation in productions (either on stage or backstage), Thespian Festivals, seeing other theatre's productions, and holding an officer position in a Thespian troupe. It is generally understood that a minimum of 10 thespian points (equal to 100+ hours of work in scholastic theatre) grants a student membership to the troupe. Once inducted into ITS, students are life-long members and can participate in college level troupes and post-graduate organizations in their communities. Students at TFS are considered to be members in good standing by attending called meetings, taking part in or supporting the performing arts events of the school, fundraising and service projects, and by following the school’s code of conduct without major infractions.

“Thespis” is credited as being the first actor in the Greek theatre tradition and is hence, the namesake of the organization. The ITS motto:  "Act well your part; there all the honor lies" - Alexander Pope.

Model United Nations Society seeks to promote:

Any Tallulah Falls School students who have completed two years of college preparatory mathematics (must be two of the following:  Algebra 1, Algebra 2, or Geometry) and have completed OR are enrolled in a third year of college preparatory mathematics may be eligible for membership into Mu Alpha Theta Mathematics Honor Society. In order to be accepted into the society, the student must have a 4.0 math GPA in the required math courses and at least a 3.5 overall GPA along with a recommendation from a previous mathematics instructor.

If inducted, the student will be required to fulfill membership requirements (attendance to meetings, enrollment in math all 4 years, service projects, tutorial services) to be considered an active member in good standing. Failure to meet these requirements will result in dismissal as a member of the TFS Chapter of Mu Alpha Theta. The National Honor Society (NHS) is an organization established in 1921 to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll recognition or entry on a resume, NHS serves to honor those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character. Students who have attended Tallulah Falls for at least one semester and are qualified for consideration based upon their achievement of a 4.0 weighted GPA are nominated for membership by a committee of faculty and staff who meet, review a completed application, discuss, and determine those students who exhibit those attributes collectively known as the “four pillars” of the National Honor Society. Once the list of nominees for selection is populated, the qualifying students are sent a congratulatory letter informing them of the committee’s decision. The students then have the option of accepting or declining the nomination.

Once a member, students are expected to maintain their GPA, serve as examples to other students through their leadership and integrity, and participate as a chapter member in at least five hours of service per semester in NHS- and non-NHS-related activities. 

Any student who transfers into Tallulah Falls School who is already a member in good standing of the NHS from a previous school must contact the faculty advisor to initiate the transfer of membership.

The Photography Club cultivates a vibrant community of photographers driven by their shared passion for the art of visual storytelling. The club provides a platform for photographers of all levels to come together, inspire one another, and refine their craft.

The Quill and Scroll International Honor Society for High School Journalists is an organization established in 1926, for the purpose of encouraging and recognizing individual student achievement in journalism and scholastic publication.

Members of Quill and Scroll Honor Society must be chosen from students enrolled in the high school who, at the time of their recommendation, meet the following requirements: high school Journalism student for a minimum of 4 semesters, they must have the equivalent of a B grade average, or be in the upper third of their class in general scholastic standing, either for the year of their election or for the cumulative total of all high school work, and they must have done superior work in some phase of journalism or school media work.

The Recycling Club collects paper and cardboard for recycling on campus. Members meet weekly as needed.

The Robotics Club builds robots and competes in state competitions. Members meet every two weeks.

Science Olympiad is a national organization that encourages students to challenge themselves in the area of STEM and develop a supportive community in their school! Students will participate in a Regional competition in early spring for a chance to qualify for a State competition. The competition offers categories in content knowledge, experiment execution, and engineering builds.

The Saved Endangered Animals (SEA) Club uses monthly bake sales and other fundraising activities to donate all money to an organization to aid a different animal that is chosen every month at a meeting.

The Skateboarding Club's purpose is to exercise, building competence, and enjoy the outdoors.

The Table Tennis Club plays against each other and has fun in those competitions. They meet weekly on Fridays in the Student Center.

The Tallulah Times Club's purpose is to deliver news from a student's perspective, with plans to meet monthly.

Tome Society is a nonprofit organization serving students in grades 2-12 all across Georgia. Tome is dedicated to spreading a passion for literacy throughout our school and our community while also promoting values such as leadership skills, self esteem, creativity, and critical thinking. Students in this group have the opportunity to create projects based on an annual book list released by the organization each year. These projects span to areas of all interests, from writing to visual arts to media production, and they are showcased at the annual TomeCon conference, where members can compete for awards. To qualify to become a member of the honor society, a student must obtain a certain amount of points, which they can earn by completing these projects, participating in club activities, and volunteering in the community. This is our honor society chapter’s inaugural year.

The Tri-M Music Honor Society is a distinguished program of the National Association for Music Education (NAfME) that aims to develop future leaders in music education and advocacy. Our chapter is dedicated to recognizing exceptional students who demonstrate excellence both academically and musically, while also contributing to their communities through music. Our mission is to provide music service and educational opportunities within our community. We aim to support our music departments through advocacy, increased opportunities, and effective recruitment. By fostering a deeper connection with music, we strive to strengthen and enrich our community.

To be inducted, candidates must be enrolled in a school-sponsored music ensemble and/or class or participate in music lessons or activities outside of school. Special circumstances may be considered. Candidates must maintain an A average or equivalent in music for the previous semester, with at least a B average or equivalent in other academic subjects. Members must demonstrate respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, fairness, caring, and good citizenship.

Active requirements include, members must perform a minimum of 5 hours of music-related service activities. Members must attend weekly meetings. Members may be dismissed from Tri-M for failure to meet membership requirements, including academic standards, absences, service hours, attendance policies, or character expectations.

The Young Ladies Club meets to talk about being an outstanding person in the community and beyond through understanding each other. The club will meet with amazing women in the workplace, home, and abroad, and will participate in community service to help organizations in the community that support women in need.
